The main functions of the Office of the Pr. Accountant General (A&E), Bihar are as follows:

• Gazetted Entitlement Function is basically meant to serve as to entitlement and authorization of pay and allowances on the various events in the career of a Gazetted officer.
• Office of the Pr. Accountant General (A&E), Bihar, Patna deals with the entitlement functions of the following officers:
  • Officers of All India Service (IAS, IPS and IFS officers of Bihar Cadre).
  • Officers of the various services of the Government of Bihar promoted to All India Service.
  • Officers above Basic Grade as on 01/05/2009 whose pay slips were previously issued by the Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Bihar, Patna.

  Apart from above entitlement functions, pay slips are also being issued to Hon’ble Governor/Council of Ministers and their private Secretaries, Speaker and Dy. Speaker of State Legislative Assembly, Chairman and Dy. Chairman of State Legislative Council, Hon’ble judges of Patna High Court, Chairman and Members of BPSC/Lokayukta, Leader of the opposition in Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council/Chief Whips, Dy. Chief Whips, Whips, Members of the Legislative Council/Legislative Assembly.
