Shri, Ashok Sinha is a 1998 batch IA&AS officer presently posted as Director General of Audit (Health, Welfare & Rural Development), New Delhi. He is a post graduate in “Modern Indian History” from University of Delhi. Previously he worked as Principal Director, “Government Accounting Standards Advisory Board” in the office of Comptroller & Auditor General of India, New Delhi. He has also worked as Accountant General (A&E) Uttarakhand, Dehradun. Besides, he has worked in various capacities at Chandigarh, Jaipur and Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh).
During his long career in the department spanning more than 20 years, he has a rich and vast experience of working in the field of Civil Audit, Receipt Audit, Accounts and Entitlement etc. He was also involved in the audit assignment at WHO and IOM Geneva, (Switzerland), UN HQ country office Columbia, UN entities in Afghanistan and Nepal. He is instrumental in preparation and publication of the “Concept Paper on Natural Resource Accounting” brought out by GASAB.
