Report No. 2 of the year 2022 - Performance Audit on Achievement of objectives of Sindh Project Phase-II for the year ended 31 March 2019, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Overview
This Report contains major findings arising out of Performance Audit on Achievement of objectives of Sindh Project Phase-II of Water Resources Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh under Economic Sector Pradesh covering the period 2014-15 to 2018-19. The Report is structured in four chapters. Chapter 1 provides general information about audited entities, audit coverage, genesis and status of the project. Chapter 2 of Report contains findings related to Outcomes on irrigation. Chapter 3 of Report contains findings related to other outcomes of the project viz. outcome of Power generation, Fish production, Supply of Drinking water, Tourism and Ecological and Environment Preservation. Chapter 4 of Report contains conclusion and recommendations made by the Audit.
The audit findings included in the Report contains issues of disproportionate distribution of water supplied, deficiencies in Harsi high level canal system, decrease in number of beneficiary villages, inadequate monitoring, etc.
The audit has been conducted in conformity with the Auditing Standards of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Audit samples have been drawn based as per guidelines of the Headquarters Office. The specific audit methodology adopted has been mentioned in the Audit report. The audit conclusions have been drawn and recommendations have been made taking into consideration the views of the Government.
