Introduction

The Principal Director of Audit, Railway Production Unit & Metro Railway is responsible for the audit of accounts and various activities relating to: -

1. Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi
2. Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Chittaranjan
3. Metro Railway, Kolkata

The organisation of the Headquarters office and the branch offices of the Director General of Audit follows the administrative pattern adopted by these organisations.

Apart from audit of annual accounts, this Office also conducts compliance and performance audits approved by the Headquarters.
