General Sector Introduction

General Sector is responsible for the audit of sixteen Government Departments, namely Public Works Department, Irrigation and Public Health Department, Printing & Stationery, Home Affairs, Chief Secretary (General Administration Department & Secretariat Administration Department), Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration, Election Department, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission Hamirpur, Department of Environment Science & Technology, Department of Information & Technology, Lokayukt, Finance Department, Secretary Governor, Secretary Vidhan Sabha and State Information Commission. General sector is also entrusted with the audit of pension accounts maintained in different nationalized banks in Himachal Pradesh. This section also undertakes the audit and certification of accounts of twelve autonomous bodies, namely HP State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Una, DLSA Solan, DLSA Hamirpur, DLSA Kullu, DLSA Bilaspur, DLSA Chamba, DLSA Kangra, DLSA Kinnaur, DLSA Shimla, DLSA Sirmour, DLSA Kinnaur. Apart from above, this sector is entrusted with the certification of accounts of Printing & Stationery and two externally aided projects viz. National Hydrology Project and Himachal Pradesh Public Financial Management Capacity Building Program.
