Deepak Raghu is an officer of the 2010 batch of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service.
He is a Computer Engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal, and a post graduate from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.
Prior to joining Government service, he had worked at the Investment Banking Division of BNP Paribas, Hong Kong and at the Financial Services Consulting practice at Accenture, Mumbai and the Strategy Consulting practice at Accenture, Gurgaon.
Upon joining Government service, he completed his training at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla. Subsequently, he has served in the rank of Deputy Accountant General for over 8 years in the States of Odisha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with responsibilities ranging across audit of
- State Government Departments such as Revenue and Disaster Management, Finance, Home, Law, Electronics and IT etc.
- Social sector schemes such as MGNREGS, NRHM, IAY etc.
- Central Public Sector Enterprises such as NTPC, BHEL, NHAI etc.
He has also served as external auditor to the United Nations Organization, New York, as part of the teams deployed by the UN Board of Auditors (chaired by the CAG of India). The focus of these assignments was the audit of application controls implemented as part of the ERP system (Umoja) of the UNO.
In addition to his regular duties, he enjoys facilitating learning sessions intended to generate increased awareness of financial statements and Government Accounts, and has served as guest faculty at the Administrative Staff College of India, the MCR HRD Institute at Hyderabad, the International Centre for Information Systems Audit at Noida and various Regional Training Institutes of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
