Superannuation Pension
A Superannuation pension is granted to a Government Servant entitled or compelled by rule, to retire at a particular age. ( Rule 93 of Assam Services (Pension) Rules)
Retiring Pension
A Retiring Pension shall be granted to a Government Servant who retires, or is retired, in advance of the age of superannuation in accordance with provisions of Rule 96 of Assam Services (Pension) Rules.
Pension on absorption in or under a corporation, company or body
A Government Servant who has been permitted to be absorbed in a service or post in or under a corporation or company wholly or substantially owned or controlled by the Government etc., and if such absorption is declared by the Government in the Public interest shall be granted Pro-rata Pension vide Rule 98 of Assam Services (Pension) Rules.
Invalid Pension
A Government Servant who is declared by the appropriate medical authority to be permanently incapacitated for further service in accordance with the instructions on the subject, may be granted invalid pension. (Rule 34 of Assam Services (Pension) Rules)
Compulsory Retirement Pension
A Government servant compulsorily retired from service as a penalty may be granted by the competent authority pension or gratuity or both at the rate not less than two-thirds and not more than full compensation pension or gratuity or both admissible to him on the date of his Compulsory retirement
Compensation Pension
A Government servant is entitled to get compensation pension owing to the abolition of his permanent post.
Compassionate Allowance
A Government Servant who is dismissed or removed from service shall forfeit his pension and gratuity. However, if the case is deserving of special consideration, a compassionate allowance can be sanctioned in accordance with the provisions of Rules. The Compassionate allowance shall not exceed two thirds of pension or gratuity or both which would have been admissible to him if he had retired on compensation pension.
Compassionate Family Pension in lieu of compassionate appointment
A Government Servant who dies in harness on or after 01-04-2017 after completing minimum 1 (one) year service, the family pension equal to 100% of the last pay drawn by the deceased employee be paid to the family/legal heir who have the eligibility to receive normal family pension as per ASPR’1969 (as amended from time to time) for a period up to the date of deemed superannuation of the deceased employee.
The Assam Pension Scheme for Journalists
The Government of Assam vide Notification No. IPRD.18/2014/36 dated 16-01-2017 introduces a new Scheme “The Assam Pension Scheme for Journalist 2017” The new scheme for the welfare of journalist in the form of retirement benefits to Journalists working in Assam.
