The Pension Group headed by an I.A. & A.S. Officer of the rank of Deputy Accountant General / Senior Deputy Accountant General deals with Verification and Authorization of Pension Claims of 

• All Assam State Government Pensioners (other than teaching and non-teaching staff of Provincialised schools & staff of Provincialised Panchayat).
• Pension cases of All India Service Officers borne on Assam State cadre.
• High Court Judges who retire from Gauhati High Court or any branch under G.H.C.
• Chairman and members of Assam Public Service Commission and Tribunals.
• Authorization of Pension, Family Pension, DCRG and Commutation of Pension on the basis of SSA received from other States,
• Political Pension (i.e. MLA Pension & Freedom Fighter Pension).
• Other Pensions (i.e. Artist Pension, Literary Pension, Journalists Pension etc.)
