The AG (A&E) Telangana State authorises the pensionary benefits for the following categories:

• State Government employees and their families covered under the TS RP Rules, 1980
• All India Service officers of Telangana cadre.
• Constitutional authorities such as Hon’ble Judges of the High Court in the State, Lok Ayukta and State Administrative Tribunal, Members of State Public Service Commission etc.
• State Freedom Fighters Pensions

The AG(A&E) also

• issues pension authorization for pensioners of other states who opt to draw pension from the state of Telangana.
• transfers the PPOs of the pensioners of the state of Telangana to other states when the pensioner opts to draw the pension from some other state.
• issues authorization for Financial assistance
• revalidates time barred pension claims received from the treasuries 

(Revalidation in the case of GPO only; Time barred pension claim – arrear claim will be processed for sanction and reauthorisation)
