Administration
The Administration Wing of the office is headed by Deputy Accountant General (Administration) and is assisted by the Establishment Officer along with Senior Audit Officers/Assistant Audit Officers. The Administration wing consists of seven Sections v.i.z. Administration Section, Record Section, Estate Cell, Hindi Cell, Confidential Cell, EDP Cell and Cash Branch.
Functions and Activities
The functions and activities of each Section under Administration Wing is as follows:
Administration Wing
This Section deals with general office administration, promotions, transfers, deputations, recruitments, staff deployment, finalisation of retired staff pension, regulation of leave of all officers and staff, matters relating to training of all officers and staff, etc. The Administration Section is also responsible for preparation of the Office Budget, budgetary control, payment of pay and allowances and settlement of travelling allowances leave travel concession, medical claims, etc. The Establishment Officer functions as the Drawing and Disbursing Officer.
Record Section
This Section deals with all housekeeping functions of the office, regulation of expenditure of Office Expenses, receipt and despatch of correspondences, etc.
Estate Cell
Estate Management functions of the Indian Audit & Accounts Department in Shillong are handled by this office through the Estate Cell. The Estate Cell looks after the management of two residential estates i.e. Lyndhurst Estate, Laitumkhrah, Shillong and Audit & Accounts Estate, Motinagar, Shillong. The Estate Cell also liaises with the Central Public Works Department with all matters relating to construction, repairs and maintenance of office buildings and residential estates.
Hindi Cell
The Hindi Cell deals with all matters relating to Rajbhasha, Hindi Translation, Official Language Implementation Committee, Hindi publications, etc.
Confidential Cell
This Cell deals with matters relating to departmental examinations, disciplinary proceedings, annual performance Appraisal reports of all officers and staff, Movable and Immovable Property returns of all officers and staff, review of services, etc.
EDP Cell
The EDP Cell handles all the IT related issues of the office. It looks after the IT Assets and infrastructure as well as IT Hardware and Software of the office.
Cash Branch
This branch is deals with the cash transactions of the office.
