Under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 the following Officer has been appointed as the Public Information Officer of the Office of the Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya, Shillong :

Procedure of filing of Right to Information Act

Step 1	A person, who desires to obtain any information under this Act shall make a request in writing or through Electronic means in English or in Hindi accompanying such fee as mentioned in Step 3 below.
Step 2	The Applicant should clearly mention his/her Name & Address for correspondence, telephone /mobile No. and specific information which he/she wants.
Step 3	Fee A request for obtaining information under the RTI Act shall be accompanied by an application fee of Rupees ten only. Fee may be paid in cash against proper receipt or by Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Meghalaya, Shillong. For providing the information, the fees shall be charged at the following rates :- Rupees two for each page created or copied (A-4 or A-3 size paper) Actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper Actual cost or price for samples or models and, For inspection of records, no fee for the first hour, and a fee of rupees five for each subsequent hour.
