Dr. Amitha is an officer of the 2013 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service. She joined the Academy as Director in July 2024. At the Academy, she teaches courses on Public Sector Audit encompassing the broader areas of good governance, public administration, policy, and public finance. She also oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of various short-term training and capacity-building programs for officers of the IA&AS and several other central civil services conducted throughout the year.

Dr. Amitha is a Fulbright scholar and holds a master’s in public administration in international development (MPA/ID) degree from Harvard University, USA. She is a winner of the “Harvard Environmental Economics Paper Prize” and the “Outstanding SYPA” award at Harvard University.

Dr. Amitha is a qualified medical doctor with an MBBS degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She holds an MA in Economics from the University of Mysore.
