Mr. Sanjeev Kumar is a career bureaucrat hailing from the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and completed Masters in Thermal Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. He joined Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) in 2009. He has varied experience of handling various kinds of audit assignments during his stints across various offices in India - Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Itanagar, New Delhi, Ranchi and Prayagraj. He has also been part of UN audit assignments. Since June 2023, he has been holding the post of Director (Audit) at the Washington Office. Prior to joining the IA&AS, he was a Scientist in the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). His interests include reading, writing, and travelling.
